Without a doubt the 2008 Village Fete was the best so far! The sun shone all day and the biggest crowd ever seen arrived to enjoy the myriad of stalls. You could buy tea and cakes, drink beer or Pimms, you could leave with your arms full of flowers and raffle prizes, If you were clever you could win coconuts or cash prizes. Or you could just watch the many races and side shows that carried on throughout the day. I think it is fair to say that the 2008 Fete will be remembered as a successful fun day for all.
Our thanks to all the organisers and all the local clubs and societies that worked so hard to make it such a wonderful day out for so many people.

The show was opened by Mr Peter Alliss famous for his golf commentating and a local resident with ties to Churt Village

The brass band helped liven the proceedings up with their wonderful music
Young people from Churt dressed up and looked wonderful in their animal fancy dress
And then the crowds arrived, hundreds of people filled the recreation ground from 2pm until 5pm and the sun shone on us all!
The dog show proved to be a huge success with all sorts of entries, we even had dogs racing against children!!
You could practise your fishing skills
