CHURT

Over 60's Club

The Club welcomes all members of the village, currently there are 46 with an average age of 75 years. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the village hall starting at 2.30 p.m. A typical meeting would start with club information, then often a speaker followed by an afternoon
tea provided by members. A raffle is held to augment club funds.
About twice a year there is a whist drive held at the community centre.
Other events include a free, spring lunch in March and a strawberry tea
in June.
Membership costs £3 a year but the club is subsidised by donations from the Churt Welfare Trust and the Parish Council.
Information from Hudson Felgate on 01428 714510.

Volunteers needed to help with Over 60’s Lunches at the Parkhurstfield Community Centre Churt

Do you have a couple of hours to spare once every four weeks to help serve lunches to the over-60’s?.  Every Monday and Thursday lunch is served at the Community Centre to the Over-60’s.  We have a professional cook, but we do need volunteers to help with peeling vegetables, serving the food to tables and clearing up afterwards. This takes no more than a couple of hours and we are particularly short of people for the Thursday lunches.  This is a very worthwhile cause and a way of putting something back into your community.  If you are interested or would like a little bit more information please call Jenny Silvester on 01428 714034
