CHURT TENNIS CLUB.  

Churt tennis club has two hard courts and its own club house in the Recreation Ground, close to the centre of the village where there are sporting facilities.It is a friendly village club managed by a small committee of regular players. The club provides playing opportunities for members of all ages and abilities. All standards are welcome. Club sessions for adults are held each Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings throughout the year when members can play, usually doubles, without prior arrangement. A warm welcome and coffee are always available. In the summer months there is a weekly evening club session. Outside these sessions the courts may be booked up to a week in advance. Tennis coaching is available.  The club runs two knockout tournaments during the season, mixed and ladies doubles. It also plays in friendly matches against other local clubs. 

On the social side two American Tournaments with BBQ are organised, other social events take place from time to time. All members are kept informed regularly by newsletter.
 Students (18 and over) pay a reduced adult membership but are entitled to participate in all the adult sessions and social events. The club has a large Junior section. For most of the year junior tennis coaching takes place on Saturday afternoons with a qualified coach. A small charge for each session (three groups) is made but no booking is necessary. In the summer there is a supervised fun evening once a week. In addition a week of intensive group coaching is arranged in the summer holidays. We always welcome new members - please contact the Membership Secretary Charmian Brain on 01428 712219 for an application form or come along to the morning sessions.
